Estate Planning
We have many years of experience in implementing a wide variety of wills, trusts and other estate planning documents, using strategies ranging from the very basic to the most complex. Our experience has prepared us to advise clients of the options available to them in wills, trusts and other estate planning documents and strategies. Not only do we address the complex tax issues which can have significant tax consequences if not handled properly, we also strive to assist our clients with the important practical and emotional aspects of the estate planning process.
Probate Administration
Probate is the process of passing the assets of a deceased person to his or heirs. In addition to the grief that is caused by the loss of a loved one, the personal representative of an estate is required to quickly learn the legal procedures necessary to ensure a smooth estate administration. We represent the personal representatives in connection with the initiation, administration and supervision of estate and other related proceedings. This involves assembling and managing assets; establishing and maintaining accounting systems; tax planning; preparing necessary tax returns; and representing clients before state and federal courts, the Internal Revenue Service, the California Franchise Tax Board and other state and federal administrative bodies. We provide the help and assistance necessary to ensure a successful probate administration based upon years of experience in handling probate administration. We handle estates of all sizes and complexities, from simple estates up to taxable estates valued in the millions with real estate and business interests.
Tax Court Litigation
